Testimonies....

         Meet Bill, Daffney and Hank Eddins. On September 29th, 2007, Daffney experienced a personal tragedy that brought her to her knees. It was at this point, that she felt the need to start her walk with the Lord, for real this time. 
"In the weeks following 9/29/07, I felt so empty inside. I reached out
to God, to CGBC. I was seeking God & what His plans were for me. He showed his love for me by surrounding me with an
awesome church family!"
           In the meantime, God began a mighty work in Bill's life, as well. Daffney shared,"Bill was raised Catholic but had not been
active in a church environment throughout our marriage. Gradually, Bill
began to see the changes in me. He recognized that I was becoming a different
person. He didn't realize it at the time, but that was God working in him, through me. In time, Bill started attending Sunday services, and even served in children's Sunday School. Things are so much easier, now. Our marriage is stronger than it has ever been and we are forming relationships with good, Christian people! My family will spend eternity together! We are TRULY happy for the first time! God has truly blessed my family!

 

 

Natasha Hardin is a single mother of two amazing boys, Immanuel & Lael, and aunt to Narci. She joined our body about a year ago, and is such a blessing to us! Listen to what Natasha has to say about her church family:

                                  "Upon my first visit to College Grove Baptist Church, I was a little nervous because I really did not know what to expect. As I entered the building, I was greeted with a smile by some of the members. I could really feel a genuine love for God during the worship service that I had never felt before. On top of that, my children loved being there! They were extremely excited and begged me to come back and visit. I was shocked at my children's reaction because we were members at another church and they had never been this excited about going to church before. Each weekend they begged me to go back to College Grove and when I expressed to them that we were not going they were highly disappointed. Once I prayed and considered the enthusiasm that my children showed about going to church, I became a member of  College Grove Baptist Church. Being there has truly been a blessing to me and my children. We have been members for about a year and the boys are just as excited now as they were in the beginning about going to church!"

 

"I love this church!" Those are not the words you would expect to hear from a 16 year-old about church, but apparently there is something about CGBC that impressed Nick Doss! When asked what he "loved" most about his church, the football player from Eagleville High School responded with, "The people are really nice, there is always something fun to do-lots of great activities and you learn a lot about Jesus. Oh, and James (youth minister) is so funny and a really good teacher! He is so much fun! He's great at youth!" Nick also shared with us that one of his favorite memories at CGBC was in 2007 when he accepted the call to receive Christ while attending Promise Keepers with other men/youth from our church. "I'll never forget Promise Keepers! It was so cool to hang out with 12,000 other guys who love Jesus...that was just pretty cool..."
